Initial learning (i), aimed at personnel with minimum natural science background skills, consistent with entry level personnel working in the UK wastewater industry as operators, technicians, process scientist or managers of these roles.
Initial learning is designed to introduce all the technical aspects of the Wastewater Treatment process that form part of operations and environmental management. The main sessions of introduction is WWT overview, which make up three sessions of 8 hours of overview content. The content feature actual applied science problems, case studies and applications in question and answer format. All the available sessions on this level are described below.
Introduction to WWT process & technology session 1
Introduction to WWT process & technology session 2
Introduction to WWT process & technology session 3
Wastewater catchment and ww composition (3hrs)
Inlet and Primary treatment (3hrs)
Secondary treatment processes and technology (3hrs)
Tertiary treatment processes and technology (3hrs)
Introduction to Nutrient removal
Sludge processing
